Background and Vision

SPL was conceptualized with the vision of promoting holistic student development by integrating sports, leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking beyond academic boundaries. The tournament aimed to foster collaboration among students from MBA, Engineering, Arts & Science, Diploma, and medical disciplines , thereby encouraging inclusivity and cross-disciplinary interaction.

One of the distinguishing features of SPL 2026 was its auction-based team selection process, inspired by professional league formats. This innovative approach enhanced students’ exposure to real-time decision-making, team strategy, valuation, and leadership under pressure.

Tournament Structure and Participation

The league featured 10 teams, each comprising players selected through the auction process. The tournament followed a league format, ensuring equal participation, competitiveness, and fair play. Matches were conducted over three days with enthusiastic participation from players and spectators alike.
