Sona College of Technology, a proud partner of Chandrayaan-3 mission developed a stepper motor for use in the LVM-3 rocket that lifted off the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft and placed it into the Earth’s orbit. The research team of the college developed the simplex permanent magnet stepper motor for the actuator assembly of LVM-3 that controlled the rocket engine’s liquid fuel and oxidizer mixture ratio.

About Muscat College

Muscat College, (formerly known as Muscat College of Management Science and Technology) is a private Higher Education Institution located in Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman. The College is one of the first private higher education institutions and one of the pioneering colleges in Oman to initiate undergraduate studies at the bachelor with honours degree level.

Established in 1996 the College started its first academic year in 1997. Since then, the College has produced thousands of undergraduate students. Till 2004, the College campus was in a multi-story building in Ruwi. Then another millstone was achieved with the establishment of the College purpose-built campus in Bawsher city with facilities including classrooms, computer laboratories, library, cafeteria, auditorium etc. With steady growth, the college has undergone further infrastructural expansion in 2010 with the addition of an upper floor to the Language Centre, a mosque for both staff and students and a Multi-Purpose Sports Hall for indoor sports activities. In addition, the college has further plans to construct a girl’s hostel and a dedicated library building during the next strategic plan period 2020-25.
